A system's documentation must be able to explain

  • the motivations behind as well as
  • the consequences and recommended further steps

for all of the system's subject, notably its use cases.

A decision support system explains

  • WHY something shall be done in a certain way,
  • HOW it should be done,
  • WHAT the consequences are and
  • WHAT further actions are prohibited, discouraged, indispensable, recommended or possible (i.e. conflictive, interdependent, complementary and/or independent functionalities).
